OOC Note

Kelly's blog continues with her normal ramblings for the next two years (nothing out of the ordinary), but she keeps in touch with those that read it. Meanwhile, I'll restart it with her current year posts. -- The Author :)

New House!

Ben, X, and I went house shopping finally, and I signed the papers for my new place! Here are some pictures. We're supposed to close in three weeks. Once I move in, I'll have to have a party!

The End of the World As I Know It

My friend Ben talked some about what's been happening in the last couple of days. Lots of stuff I shouldn't be talking about, and that I don't completely understand.

First there was the spider thing. Besides having a creepy spider thing inside me (how much more gross can it get?), there were no good answers. Everything just keeps getting more grey. I did get to hang out with my buddy, and he even let me play with his toys. Lots of fun there, although it would have been nice to do without having, like, lives at stake. We were able to get things fixed, but not the most satisfactory solution. I won't be learning to weave any time soon, that's for sure.

The guy who found the spider thing in me (again, yuck!) was pretty cool, and I'm glad I met him. He's a really good guy. It sounds kinda hokey, but I hope I grow up to be like him and Ben. Ace is kinda cute too.

So then I go to the debate with Ben. (I can't imagine how he ended up with tickets, but he asked me to go.) I got to mess with our favorite candidate some, until they called the debate after that rogue telepath they've been talking about on TV showed up. And that's when things got crazy, and it got deep into the stuff I can't talk about.

I did get a chance to discuss it with my mentor, and she helped me sort some of it out. Of course, when your mentor is your boss, you also get more work to do because of it. I hope it goes well. Certain things need to stop, and hopefully we can do it.

Untitled

Last night something really terrible happened. I don't know how much is gonna end up in the news, but...some people were killed, and I just stood there, and watched. I froze. I didn't know what to do, and I couldn't help. I couldn't stop it. I just ran away, and then watched, helplessly. I don't know that I'm cut out for this shit. Machines are fine. They don't indiscriminately kill each other.

Fuck. I should have been able to do something!

Just another day in Paradise...

Last night was, well...wow. I don't think I could ever describe it well enough, but I *have* to talk about it. So, I finagled my way into an invite for one of Count Orzaiz's sexy parties. Not exactly my scene, but I was hoping my friend might be hanging around, fly on the wall style. And he was, but that was almost boring compared to everything else that went on. First, who shows up to grace us with his presence but the almighty Mal himself! Tres exciting. Even better, Mal had this awesome robot with him. (Shout out to my new friend, X-189!) This guy was like, totally real AI, not some nova in a machine, or a bad program like I might write. He floated over to talk to Metal, so I butted in to get some face time. (Is it really face time if he didn't really have a face? Anyway...) So we're talking, along with this vet guy from Canada, and he's (X) like, "You haven't met Mal, let me introduce you." And he takes us over to meet Mal. (He is soooo much better looking in person than on TV. Too bad about the "life partner.") Introduces us to him, and Scripture, and Narcosis and Ana DeVries (being *very* pregnant). We chat some, although nobody really seemed to know what to say, and Mal started being all philosophical. Asked me point blank what I thought being a nova was all about. I gave him some answer about not knowing yet (42?), and he seemed ok with that. Then, he gets pulled away, and turns out there's some guy outside wanting to call out Ana DeVries. Mal decides to let him in, and he comes in dragging some woman's almost dead body, and not giving it up until Ana agrees to a fight. (At this point, I send a message to my people saying I *might* need some help getting out if the shit hits the fan. Remember this folks, it's important later.) So, the crowd all goes outside to watch them throw down when POW! (and I mean POW!), good ole Pax shows up and fucking levels the place. Would have kicked my ass if some good looking man in red hadn't been watching out for me. (We won't go into what possible motivation he may have had for doing so.) X starts calling Pax out about tearing down the building, and waving his dick around and such, which, of course, only make Pax want to wave it around more. Pax even threatened to destroy X. I tried to shut X down so he would shut up, and even tried to pull some rank (such as it is), but, of course, Pax would have nothing to do with it, and he "arrested" X and flew him off into space.

Now, I was totally worried that Pax was gonna crush X, and right after we'd become such good friends. So I left, and called everyone I could to bitch about it. Utopia, of course, came back with some BS answer about how *I* was the one who called them in. Um, hello - those field ops need to learn how to read their e-mail. Total overkill. Just when I thought I wasn't gonna get anywhere, I saw on the cameras that X came back! I totally ran back over there, and we had our teary reunion. :)

So, yeah...what a night.

Oh, and this is gonna sound totally cryptic and shit, but oh well. There was this totally awesome miraculous thing that happened (Ben got to be there for it), and it was just, well, awesome and miraculous. I hope everyone involved is doing well. They were nice, even if I didn't really know them that well.

And...I just have to say that someone told me something that made me think I got some thinking to do.

On the job

So, I totally got my first assignment yesterday. I had to go to Sampa, (oh no! don't send me to carnival!) to meet with Tess Turbo and find someone about to erupt. (You know, cause a drunk rockstar was what they needed.) So I get there, and she's hanging with The Pulverizer. (WTH?) They mistook me for a fan at first. As if. (But The Pulverizer totally signed my shirt. I'll have to give it to that hawt guy Jimmy down the hall, he'll flip.) Oh yeah, luckily this cute guy (excpet for the hardware on his face) strolls up and starts chatting with Tess. Turns out its an ex-Hestia guy named Gabriel. This guy at least seemed like he knew what he was doing.

So, anyway, I'm straightening things out, and the power starts flickering. (This has totally got to be the guy right?) So I go looking for him. I trace him back through the lines to this greasy mechanic shop down the street. I told my "teammate" and then popped over there. It's pretty cool being able to do this shit without having to worry about the cops. Not that they could catch me anyway.

We're headed to the garage when this semi totally goes all Optimus Prime on us, and starts attacking. Time to get serious. I run him down in the system (shutting down several Johnny Fives as well), and tried to open a convo when the freaking Pulverizer starts going at it with Tess. *Very* helpful for the rest of us. I pointed the newb out, and Gabriel starts after him, when the line goes dead. 4'33".

I ran off after Gabriel, phasing out in case we ran into any more Transformers. We open the door, and the place is filled with smoke. Seems the guy was trying to off himself when he erupted. (Seems to happen a lot if you ask me.) He was half melted into the metal of this car he was next to...and definately wasn't transmitting anymore.

So, yeah, not the best of missions to start with, but these things happen I suppose (or at least that's what the Utopia shrink says). 'Course, personel cutbacks don't help that at all.

Oh, and yeah Grams, I did leave the door open so his chindi could get out. Don't need a real ghost in the machine.
